Decks and outdoor living spaces are exposed to sun, rain, and temperature swings much like a roof, but they also take on foot traffic and furniture weight that a roof never has to handle. A waterproofing system needs to account for both concerns, not just water resistance alone.
Without proper waterproofing, water can seep into the deck substrate, leading to rot, structural weakening, and interior leaks if the deck sits above living space.
